I kept thinking of reasons not to like this film which I wanted to see despite all the bad reviews and quite liked anyway perhaps as much to see for myself and or to prove how clever I was at being able to skilfully pick a movie apart with all my film classes and working [...]

I saw this Live HD broadcast from the NY Met yesterday evening and tweeted from the cinema about it but these are my first blog musings.
This was the last one of the season but they are proving so popular that they are going to add more performances next year, up to 11 from 8 this [...]

Lisa Gay Hamilton as a homicide detective was the best thing about this movie which really didn’t live up to its potential. Marcel langenegger has directed one other film and a commercial and it could look like that, nothing wrong with the cinematography done by Dante Spinotti who was director of photography on Heat and [...]

Your basic Irish hitmen holed up in Bruges at Christmas waiting for instructions as to their next move sort of movie. Colin Farrell with Clémence Poésy reminding of Scarlett Johansen as the love interest. Genuinely funny.

Scary movie from Barcelona. Manuela Velasco carries it. Only one hour and fifteen minutes long but pretty intense for most of that. Starts out innocently and almost amateurishly but don’t let that fool you. Could remind of an indoor Blair Witch project. If you like the films coming out of mainland Spain and you like [...]

This movie opened in the States 3 weeks ago and has been hanging in at the Box Office steadily every weekend since. However it just opened in the UK this weekend with the preview Wednesday. Seems the critics don’t like it that much and after seeing it I understand why.
It was endurable and I thought [...]
